Individual Observation Process Monitoring Charts for Systems with Response Lags
نویسنده
چکیده
Previously, it has been held that statistical process control (SPC) and engineering process control (EPC) were two distinct domains for process improvement. However, we design four control policies to integrate the two approaches using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) feedback controller and Shewhart or moving centerline exponentially weighted moving average (MCEWMA) charts. We specifically consider the impact of these policies for a system with response lags modeled by a secondorder dynamic process and autocorrelated nonstationary outside disturbances. These policies are implemented using simulation and applied in a case study of a liquid-tank system. Our investigation shows this approach is effective with respect to overall system performance including quality and cost.

Monitoring and Diagnosing Multistage Processes: A Review of Cause Selecting Control Charts
A review of the literature on cause selecting charts (CSCs) in multistage processes is given, with a concentration on developments which have occurred since 1993. Model based control charts and multiple cause selecting charts (MCSCs) are reviewed. Several articles based on normally and non-normally distributed outgoing quality characteristics are analyzed and important issues such as economic d...

The objective of the current paper is to present an intelligent system for complex process monitoring, based on artificial intelligence technologies. This system aims to realize with success all the complex process monitoring tasks that are: detection, diagnosis, identification and reconfiguration. For this purpose, the development of a multi-agent system that combines multiple intelligences su...

In many processes in real practice at the start-up stages the process parameters are not known a priori and there are no initial samples or data for executing Phase I monitoring and estimating the process parameters. In addition, the practitioners are interested in using one control chart instead of two or more for monitoring location and variability of processes. In this paper, we consider a s...

A manufacturing process cannot be released to production until it has been proven to be stable. Also, we cannot begin to talk about process capability until we have demonstrated stability in our process. This means that the process variation is the result of random causes only and all assignable or special causes have been removed. In complicated manufacturing processes, such as drilling proces...

Shewhart charts are the main tools for statistical process control. They are used for detecting assignable causes which affect quality of process output. From them, X and MR charts are two univariate control charts for monitoring mean and variation of measurable quality characteristics. The main drawbacks of these charts are: weakness of X chart against non-normal distribution of process data,...
